TANZANIA Cigarette Company Limited (TCC) has been certified by Top Employer Institute of South Africa as one of the top employers in Tanzania for excellence in employees conditions.
TCC is among six other Japan Tobacco
International (JTI) Group of Companies (JTI) entities in Africa that
were also awarded the top award in their respective countries at the
award ceremony held recently in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This follows an annual international
research undertaken by the Top Employers Institute which recognises
leading employers around the world which provide excellent employee
conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the
organisation and strive to continuously optimise employment practices.
The CEO of Top Employers Institute,
David Plink, said their survey showed TCC forms part of a selected group
of employers that advance employee conditions worldwide and their
people are well taken care of.
TCC’s Human Resources Director, Angela
Mangecha said the certification demonstrated the commitment of TCC and
its parent company JTI to create a working environment in Tanzania that
is on par with the Company’s international standards.
She said it gives a deep sense of pride
to employees to work for a certified Top Employer and provides them with
independent confirmation that they are working for an organisation that
is objectively rated as one of the best in Tanzania and Africa.
The certification gives TCC the opportunity to attract the best talent available in Tanzania, she said.
