A RESIDENT of Ijumbi village, Ruiwa Ward in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, Mr Samson Kalikumoyo (29), has died after being stabbed with a knife on his private parts by his wife, Zania Ndenga (20).

The incident took place on Thursday evening when the deceased, who is also a member of the Village Executive Committee, had just returned from Mbeya City where he had gone for business. “While he was there, his wife phoned him and asked him to return.
When he arrived home, he found his wife with another man and they started to quarrel. When we heard shouting from their home, we rushed to see what was happening only to find the deceased seriously bleeding in his private parts while his wife was by his side, pleading for forgiveness for her action of stabbing him,” said one of the neighbours.
According to the Village Chairman, Mr Mugabe Sumuni, the man who was with Zania ran away soon after the incident. “I hurried and took him to our village dispensary but they failed to treat him since he was severely wounded.
They told us to take him to Chimala Hospital where we were directed to first report the matter to the police. We went to Igurusi Police Station where Samson died shortly after we arrived,” he narrated.
A doctor at Chimala Hospital confirmed that Samson died from severe bleeding caused by serious stab wounds on his private parts. The deceased was buried on Friday at his Ijumbi village.
However, some of the villagers who did not want to reveal their names said that this was the third time Zania had stabbed his husband with a knife though in the first and second incidents he had survived.
The Mbeya Regional Police Commander, Mr Dhahiri Kidavashari, has confirmed incident, adding that police were going on with their investigations
