Joint plan to improve Hydom Hospital service delivery

Deputy Minister of State (Regional Administration and Local Government), Selemani Jaffo, said the agreement, now in final stage, is intended to improve services offered by the Hydom Designated Referral Hospital.
He said the government has set aside 570m/- as salaries for health personnel working at the hospital. Jaffo was answering Flatei Massay (Mbulu Rural - CCM), who said time is up for government to increase subsidy to be given to the hospital.
In 2015/16 financial year the government has set aside 134m/- for operations of the hospital of which 111.5m/- was delivered. He said the government has plans to support the hospital in terms of subsidy to cover medicines and medical equipment and salary payment to some of the hospital staff.
