China’s giant mobile phone manufacturer said that the budgeted fund also seeks to improve Smartphone product in the country.
Huawei Device Tanzania, Deputy Managing
Director, Mr Wang Guang Jun, made the announcement during the firm’s key
nationwide Dealer’s Congress that focused on growth plans on the next
five years.
“Huawei announces (that) 10 per cent of
its revenue would go into marketing drive to increase and improve Huawei
smart phone products,” Mr Wang said. Speaking during the congress, Mr
Hu Xiangyang Jacko, Device Country Manager at Huawei said: “we are glad
to ably interact with partners who will help us become number one
Smartphone brand in Tanzania in 2016.”
Huawei claims to control a market share
of 22 per cent in this year’s first quarter. ‘Daily News’ spot survey
yesterday shows that Samsung is number one brand in the country followed
closely by Huawei and Tecno.
To live their ambition, Huawei announced
a special incentive program whereby top dealers will be awarded 20,000
US dollars (over 40m/-) and the second receiving 10,000 US dollars (over
20m/-).
At the event, held in Dar es Salaam,
over 50 dealers were awarded authorisation certificates to confirm that
they sell genuine and original Huawei smart phones. The dealers came
from all major cities, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Moshi, Mbeya,
Dodoma, Tanga, Morogoro, Singida, Kagera, Kigoma, and Bukoba
