A GRAND “Karibu” awaits Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa who is expected to start his tour of Simiyu Region on Wednesday.
The Simiyu visit will be one of the
first upcountry visits the PM will be making since he was appointed to
the post by President John Magufuli and already the information on his
arrival has drawn the attention of many residents here.
Briefing the ‘Daily News’ on the
activities, the PM is set to undertake during the tour, Simiyu Regional
Commissioner Mr Elaston Mbwilo said apart from addressing public
rallies, Mr Majaliwa will also lay foundation stones on the number of
projects across the region.
He mentioned some of them as the
construction of the Busega District Council headquarters as well as
inspecting the construction of the regional headquarters in Bariadi
township.
“The Prime Minister is also set to lay a
foundation stone of the district hospital in Busega district before he
opens a new science laboratory at a secondary school in Meatu District
as well as inspecting a water project in Maswa district respectively,”
said Mr Mbwilo.
According to a timetable, the PM is set
to arrive in Busega District on Wednesday from Mwanza where he will have
a short stopover and is expected to end his tour by holding a meeting
at Maswa next Monday.
Mr Mbwilo called on residents to turn up
in large numbers and greet the PM who is set to visit Bariadi, Itilima,
Meatu and Maswa districts which form Simiyu region. The region was part
of Shinyanga region in yesteryears.
