PRESIDENT John Magufuli yesterday completed his high-profiled appointments, retaining Ambassador Ombeni as Chief Secretary and appointing new permanent secretaries and their deputies.
According to a statement issued last
night by the Directorate of Presidential Communication, the president
has also appointed Mr Eliakim Maswi as Acting Deputy Commissioner
General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) while at the same time
revoking the appointment of Mr Lusekelo Mwaseba as the revenue body’s
Deputy Commissioner General.
Dr Magufuli has appointed Mr Peter Ilomo
as Permanent Secretary (State House-Ikulu), Dr Laurent Ndumbaro
(President’s Office, Public Service and Good Governance) and Engineer
Mussa Iyombe (President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local
Government, TAMISEMI. Dr Deo Mtasiwa has been appointed Deputy Permanent
Secretary, TAMISEMI (Health), while Mr Bernard Makali takes over as
Deputy Permanent Secretary - TAMISEMI (Education).
For the Vice-President’s Office, the
president has appointed Mr Mbaraka Abdul Wakil as Permanent Secretary to
be assisted by Engineer Ngosi Mwihava as Deputy Permanent Secretary.
In the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy,
Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Youth, Employment and People with
Disabilities, Dr Magufuli has appointed Mr Erick Shitindi as Permanent
Secretary (Labour and Employment), Mr Mussa Uledi, Permanent Secretary
(Parliament) and Dr Hamis Mwinyimvua, Permanent Secretary (Policy).
Dr Florens Turuka is the new Permanent
Secretary (Agriculture), with Dr Mashingo becoming Permanent Secretary
(Livestock) and Dr Budeba Permanent Secretary (Fisheries Development).
In the Ministry of Works, Transport and
Communications, Dr Magufuli has appointed Engineer Joseph Nyamuhanga as
Permanent Secretary (Works), Engineer Leonard Chamuliho (Transport),
Professor Faustine Kamuzora (Communications) and Ms Mary Sassabo, Deputy
Permanent Secretary (Communications).
Moreover, the president has appointed Dr
Yamungu Kayandabila as Permanent Secretary -- Ministry of Lands,
Housing and Human Settlements Development and Dr Moses Kusiluka as
Deputy Permanent Secretary while appointing Major General Gaudence
Milanzi as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and
Tourism and Ms Anjelina Madete as Deputy Permanent Secretary.
The statement further said that Dr
Adelhem Meru has been appointed as Permanent Secretary (Industry),
Professor Adolf Mkenda - Permanent Secretary (Trade and Investment) and
Engineer Joel Malongo as Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of
Industry, Trade and Investment.
In the Ministry of Education, Science
and Technology, Dr Magufuli has appointed Ms Maimuna Tarishi as
Permanent Secretary and Prof Simon S. Msanjila and Dr Leonard Akwilapo
as her deputies. As for the Ministry of Health, Community Development,
Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr Mpoki Ulisubisya has been appointed as
Permanent Secretary (Health) and Ms Sihaba Nkinga as Permanent Secretary
(Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children).
In the Ministry of Information, Culture,
Arts and Sport, the president has retained Professor Elisante Ole
Gabriel Mollel as Permanent Secretary with Ms Nuru Khalfan Mrisho as
Deputy Permanent Secretary.
Engineer Mbogo Futakamba has been
appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water and Irrigation
while Engineer Kalobero Emmanuel has been appointed Deputy Permanent
Secretary.
In the Ministry of Energy and Minerals,
the president has appointed Professor Justus Ntalikwa as Permanent
Secretary while Professor James Epifani Mdoe and Dr Paulina Pallangyo
become deputy permanent secretaries in the ministry.
Professor Sifuni Mchome has been
appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Constitution and Legal
Affairs as Ms Suzan Paul Mlawi and Mr Amon Mpanju will assist him as
deputy permanent secretaries.
Judge (Major General) Projest Rwegasira
is the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, with
Ambassador Hassan Simba Yahaya becoming Deputy Permanent Secretary.
In the Ministry of Finance and Planning,
Dr Magufuli has appointed Dr Servacious Likwelile as Permanent
Secretary to be assisted by three deputy permanent secretaries namely Ms
Dorothy Mwanyika, Mr James Dotto and Ms Amina Hamisi Shabani.
Dr Aziz Mlima has been appointed
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, East African,
Regional and International Affairs while Ambassador Ramadhan Muombwa
Mwinyi becomes Deputy Permanent Secretary.
For the Ministry of Defence and National
Service, the president has appointed Mr Job Masima as Permanent
Secretary, to be assisted by Ms Immaculate Peter Ngwale as Deputy
Permanent Secretary.
