DAR ES SALAAM Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Saidi Meck Sadiki, has stressed on the need for land dispute council members to observe competence and integrity as the best way to end land conflicts in their respective areas.
He made the remarks shortly after land
disputes members in Kinondoni and Temeke municipal councils took oath
before taking up their new undertakings at the Regional Commissioner’s
Office.
“You should know that your selection to the committee was not by chance but by qualification.
You should not let down those who
appointed you; instead you should strive for competence and integrity as
you deliver services to the public,” he said.
He also urged them to behave themselves
in a manner which all contested parties will have trust on them so that
decision reached and judgement made before the tribunal will bear no
antifavouritism elements.
He wanted them to exercise wisdom and
skills taking into account their experiences in application of customs
and laws of the relevant place in solving land disputes
