The Agribusiness Congress East Africa
envisages creating an enabling environment for all farmers and peasants
to participate, with over 700 visitors and 50 exhibitors expected to
attend.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food
Security and Cooperatives as well as the Ministry of Livestock and
fisheries Development are supporting the event to which emerging
commercial farmers will have an opportunity to attend.
According to Director of Agribusiness
Congress Event, Emmanuelle Nicholls, “The event is an all-inclusive,
allowing farmers of all scales to benefit from the interactive
discussions cover various topics across all area of the Agro-market with
the aim of providing viable solutions to the challenges facing emerging
small-scale farmers.”
The conference and exhibition brings
together local and international agricultural stakeholders, investors
and suppliers to set strategic plans relating to regional growth and
market accessibility in the East African agricultural corridors.
The conference will take into
consideration some of the challenges faced by the sector, including
access to markets and cross-border trading, promotion of livestock
productivity to match supply and demand as well as ensuring food
security and commercial market viability.
