The advice was given here on Saturday by
SUA Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Gerald Monela during the 31st
graduation ceremony, where he said that they should use their acquired
skills to address the number of challenges facing the sector.
Addressing the graduates, Acting
Vice-Chancellor, Philemon Luhanjo underscored the need for the graduates
to be the institute’s good ambassadors by showing high level of
integrity and professionalism in their endeavour.
“You should be hard working; integrity
should be your key indicator as far as performance is concerned and your
delivery should be exceptional, thus making good ambassadors for SUA,”
he said.
He also urged them to be innovators and
entrepreneurs as they flock the markets rather than be complainants of
unemployment as there are a lot of opportunities they can use to create
self employment.
Luhanjo also counselled them to steer
away from corruption, drugs, embezzlements and other bad behaviours in
the society saying this will damage their integrity in public.
He said the public expects a lot from
them as they join the society, and he was optimistic that they will use
all means available to serve the society diligently.
