The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based airline, Etihad Airways, is set to launch daily flights to Tanzania early next month in December, and that will connect the business city of Abu Dhabi and Tanzania’s capital of Dar es Salaam.

The daily flights to be launched on December 1st of this year will start the Abu Dhabi to Dar es Salaam route and will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Dar es Salaam city is a fast-growing destination attracting business and leisure travelers as well as cargo volumes between the East African region Indian sub-continent and China, said the airline’s report.
"Dar es Salaam is an important new route on Etihad Airways' global network, and it builds upon existing presence in Africa and supports the close trading relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Tanzania," the report added.
Dar es Salaam will be Etihad Airways' 110th destination globally and its 11th destination in Africa and the Indian Ocean, reports from the Airline’s head office in Abu Dhabi said.
Etihad Airways will connect the Tanzanian capital with 45 destinations across the Middle East, Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, North and Southern Asia, and Australia through daily flights, the report said.
The launch of Dar es Salaam flights supports Etihad Airways’ continued expansion in Africa, representing its fourth destination in East Africa.
Flights to Dar es Salaam will be provided by the Etihad’s Airbus A320 equipment configured with 16 seats in Business Class and 120 seats in Economy Class.
Dar es Salaam is a good link and a strategic gateway for the transportation of goods and commerce to the surrounding six land-locked countries of Zambia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.
