Airtel offers TV service on mobile phones

AIRTEL Tanzania on Thursday launched an application that will allow its customers to watch local and international TV channels on their mobile phones.

The newly introduced service dubbed “Airtel TV” comes loaded with more than eight local and international channels, with a capability of the customers to watch favorite shows, movies and videos on demand.

Airtel Public Relations Manager, Mr Jackson Mmbando, said “often an average Tanzanian watches TV at home on a weekly basis in the evening hours when they return from their work.

“We are launching an affordable TV on the GO service with great TV experience taking care of their day to day challenges, be it traffic jams or power availability that restrain their access to TV.”

“Our Airtel TV has been designed to suit our customers’ needs and wants with information at their fingertips our customer will have a choice of their preferred plan be it daily, weekly or monthly,” he added.

Added Services Manager, Ms Prisca Tembo, explained further on Airtel commitment to offer live TV streaming capability for both local and international channels at affordable rates.
