Standard Chartered Bank Uganda has unveiled a modern trend of banking with the launch of its new Priority Banking center at Speke Road.
The center has been built with enhanced digital capabilities to guarantee customers an eco friendly, self service, personalized and exclusive banking experience.


The new center was formally opened by one of the Bank’s customers: Mr. Emmanuel Katongole, the Managing Director of Quality Chemicals at the bank’s headquarters.

The guests were welcomed by Wamaitha Mungai, General Manager Priority & International Banking who heartily extended her gratitude to the customers present for their continuous patronage, particularly as many of the customers present have been banking with Standard Chartered for several years.

According to Wamaitha, at the centre customers will be welcomed into a digital yet custom-made world of service in a spacious environment supported by a dedicated relationship team where they can enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee or soft drink, sign up for online banking, make a telegraphic transfer and other local money transfers, without touching pen to paper.

In addition, customers can also check their email, book a flight, check in online or even simply relax in the exclusive lounge while their transactions are being processed in record time.

The Head of Consumer Banking Ms. Grace Muliisa while addressing the guests reiterated the Bank’s commitment to building a world class international Consumer Bank.

While speaking to the guests, the CEO Herman Kasekende said;

“This Priority center has been built to transform banking through enhanced digital capabilities aimed at making banking more convenient and exciting. It is a shift from traditional banking practices characterized by lots of paperwork and bureaucratic tendencies to a paperless, self service, exclusive and personalized banking experience.”

The Guest of Honor Mr. Emmanuel Katongole, The Managing Director Quality Chemicals before officially launching the Priority centre expressed his pleasure for having been given the opportunity to preside over the event and for representing his fellow customers as their collective voice.
