China Promises More Investments

CHINA has promised more investment in the country whereas by the end of last year, the country has offered 1.6bn US dollars support in various development projects countrywide.

Moreover, China in the areas of business partnership injected 3.7bn US dollars and 2.5bn investments whereas more than 500 Chinese firms have invested in the country.
The statistics were given by the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office for Investment and Empowerment, Mary Nagu during the event to commemorate 65th anniversary of the China Republic in Dar es Salaam.
Nagu said the support has been on great importance in the development projects of the Bagamoyo port construction, Economic Processing Zones, wind mills, power generation projects among others.
"We have a number of projects funded by China and we are optimistic that once these projects are complete, we are heading towards a sustainable and stable economy," she said.
She expressed the government commitment in ensuring that they extend the bilateral relationship in all sector for the betterment of both parties.
The Chinese Ambassador, Lui Youqing expressed his country commitment in supporting Tanzania in a number of projects taking into account a long term relationship the two countries have been enjoying for years.
He said the conducive investment climate that exists in the country should be maintained to woo more investors who will team up with the citizens to bring about the desired development.
"Tanzania is among few countries with a great number of investment attractions which are also being engineered by the peace and tranquility that the country is enjoying, that is attracting investors from all corners of the world," said ambassador Youqing.
