Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama presented himself at the Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi on Tuesday to record a statement over alleged hate speech.
Mr Muthama was accompanied by Siaya Senator James Orengo and Senator Moses Wetangula of Bungoma County.

Mr Muthama is among the politicians who were summoned by police over alleged hate speech following a directive by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr Keriako Tobiko.
The directive to the police to summon them was issued amid pressure on the government to clamp down on hate-mongers and inciters.
Senator Orengo said Cord politicians will not be intimidated by the police sermons, and that that they will continue with their ongoing nationwide rallies.
