Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, the general who toppled Egypt's first freely elected leader, has swept to victory in presidential elections, Reuters reported.
However low turnout witnessed in the country's polling stations weakens the credibility of Mr Sisi's victory after opposing groups boycotted to vote.
Hundreds of his supporters took to the streets of Cairo in the early hours of Thursday as results emerged
