Nairobi Women’s Representative Rachel Shebesh yesterday recorded a statement over claims she had assaulted a security guard.

Mr Kazungu Changawa reported to the police that the lawmaker slapped him in July last year, prompting police to summon her.

He accuses Mrs Shebesh of assaulting him on July 17, 2013 at Orchid Apartments, Riverside, in Nairobi

.
She was question by Kilimani Police Division criminal investigations chief George Ojuka for close to two hours.

“I was summoned and I came to give my statement. We are now waiting for the police to conduct their investigations,” she told reporters.

She went to the station accompanied by lawyer Cecil Miller, MPs Johnson Sakaja (nominated) and Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Masaba) and several supporters.

In her address to supporters at the station, Mrs Shebesh blamed her woes on some leaders in Nairobi county, whom she did not name.

The MP is facing another assault case involving Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero
