A case in which Bahati MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri has denied assaulting a traffic police officer will go to full hearing on April 8.

The hearing was scheduled to start yesterday but the defence counsel, Mr David Mongeri, was attending another court hearing.

The lawmaker had been charged with three traffic offences he allegedly committed at Nakuru’s Kenyatta Avenue but last December 6, a court withdrew one of the charges citing inadequate evidence.

Mr Ngunjiri had been charged with driving a defective vehicle, leaving it at a place not designated for parking and failing to obey verbal instructions from a uniformed police officer whom he is alleged to have assaulted.

A Mr Kinyanjui told the court that he was the owner of the vehicle and he was driving it when Mr Ngunjiri was arrested.
