The Inspector General said the Corporal attached to the Mombasa Provincial Training College (PTC), who was on annual leave, was shot twice on the head at the Barakani stage along the Old Malindi road.

He died on the spot and the gunmen did not steal anything from him.

And in Migori, police on Tuesday night shot dead a suspect and recovered an AK47 rifle that had been stolen from an officer who was killed in July.

The passenger carrying the firearm jumped from the motorcycle and escaped to a sugarcane plantation where he was followed.
