Tanzania delegation starts grand tourism promotional campaign in Chinese Cities

 

Miss tourist for 2013 participants who recently visited Saadani, Udzungwa and Mikumi National Parks

A delegation of senior government officials left on Saturday for China for a tourism promotional campaign.

Led by Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism Nuru Millao, the team comprises officials from the ministry, Tanzania National Parks (Tanapa), Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) and tourism stakeholders from the hotel air travel industries and tour operators.

A statement by the ministry said the officials will have strategic meetings in Beijing, among others, with the National Tourism Administration of China (NTAC).

 

“This meeting is aimed at establishing partnership with tourism institutions between Tanzania and China,” said the statement.

 

The meetings will focus on areas of co-operation on issues related to policies, tourism planning and development and promotion in the tourism sector, it said.

 

It further said that the meetings will be used to explore on the possibilities of co-operation in wildlife conservation, tourism development projects through exchange programmes and other avenues between the two countries.

 

It added that various presentations will be made by Tanzanians to Chinese investors, including negotiations with the Chinese international airlines, particularly Air China and Hainan Airlines.

 

Chinese hotel investors will also have an opportunity to meet the delegation on the possibility of investing in the country, the statement said.

 

Other areas of discussion will be on the potential marine- based tourism, joint partnerships in the conservation of archaeological heritage sites and mountaineering activities in the country.

 

Various road shows will also be conducted in Chinese cities where presentations and press conferences will be held for tourism operators.
