To provide information, support and encouragement to the poor, employees and pensioners and Center to take active roles in projects/programs to develop social security and pension as a means of promoting health and alleviating poverty. Directing at trying to make sure that older Tanzanians to have enough money to live on when they are too old to work and to protecting and promoting the retirement security of Tanzania workers, retirees, and their families
The Center’s Mission is to produce first-class research and forge a strong link between the academic community and decision makers in the public and private sectors around an issue of critical importance to the nation’s future. To achieve this mission, the Center would seek sponsors a wide variety of research projects, transmits new findings to a broad audience, trains new scholars, and broadens access to valuable data sources. The Center aims to be as an authoritative source of information on all major aspects of the pensions and retirement income debate in the country.
HakiPensheni-The law Center for Pension and Retirement Rights is a network of community legal centers throughout Tanzania which specialize in Social Security and pension and retirement laws and its administration by Centre link. Based on the experience of clients of HakiPensheni members, the Network also will develops policy and advocates for reform based on the principles and rights set out below.
HakiPensheni will provide casework assistance to its clients, generally by phone, at least in the first instance. HakiPensheni members also shall conduct training and education for community workers and produce publications to help Social Security and retirement recipients and community organizations understand the system. The HakiPensheni also will engage in policy analysis and lobbying to improve the current Social Security system and its administration.
