Washington D.C., 4 June 2019: The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA) has today announced that representatives from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and International Telecommunications Union (ITU) will be speaking at its upcoming Global Summit, the premier event for spectrum policy and management.

FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly and Mario Maniewicz, Deputy-Director of the ITU’s Radiocommunication Bureau, will join representatives from the National Broadcasting Commission, Microsoft, Google and Facebook, among many others, in speaking at the event. The Global Summit welcomes regulators, policy-makers and industry stakeholders from around the world to discuss and debate spectrum sharing methods and models that will enable next-generation technologies and close the digital divide.

The DSA has announced several new speakers, including:

“I am thrilled to welcome FCC Commissioner O’Reilly and Deputy-Director Maniewicz to the 2019 DSA Global Summit along with other key government and industry leaders. In order to address increasing demand for wireless connectivity and help close the global digital divide, which still burdens half the world’s population, industry and policy makers must work together to promote increased use of dynamic spectrum access technologies and techniques,” said Martha Suárez, President of the DSA. “This evolution is reflected in the high-calibre speakers and attendees that we will be welcoming to the Global Summit later this month as we continue to discuss what the next steps are in ensuring the industry is doing its part to provide affordable connectivity to those in underserved and unconnected areas.”

The updated agenda for the Global Summit reflects the growing focus of the DSA as it continues to expand to advocate for spectrum sharing technologies and regulatory models that are needed to connect billions of people around the world to internet access.

Key topics that will be discussed during the event includes the use cases and marketplace opportunities of Citizens Broadband Radio Service, the application of three tier spectrum sharing and how the use of hybrid fixed wireless networks can be key to closing the digital divide.

The Global Summit will be held at The Westin, Washington D.C, June 25-27, 2019. To register, please click here
