Samsung launches four Galaxy phones in Kenya

Samsung Electronics has launched four Galaxy series mobile phones targeting the middle-income smartphone buyers.
Galaxy A6 Plus, Galaxy J7 Duo, Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J4 will retail at Sh39,999, Sh30,999, Sh26,999 and Sh19, 999, respectively.
“We integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love, to provide added performance without compromising on style,” Charles Kimari, head of mobile division at Samsung Electronics East Africa said during the launch on Monday.
The Galaxy A6 Plus has a dual-camera setup on the rear side and a front camera with an LED flash for taking selfies while the J7 Duo has a dual camera of 13 and 5 megapixels, besides facial recognition feature. Galaxy J6 provides users with an 8-megapixel front camera and an adjustable LED flash while the J4 model has a 5.5-inch screen and a 5-megapixel front camera.
The models are available in Samsung Stores, Safaricom
shops and authorised dealers.
The new Galaxy models come barely a month after Finnish mobile phones maker, HMD Global launched Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 1 models to tap into Kenya’s growing smart-phone market.
