A delegation from Group Credit
Agricole of Morocco (GCAM) has met the Tanzania Agricultural Development
Bank (TADB)’s Board of Directors in order to brief the Board the
purpose of their visit.
Speaking with TADB’s Board of
Directors, Mr. Jalal Bouchama who is GCAM’s Director of Engineering and
Agro business said that his team is in the country to facilitate to
develop a Credit Scoring System that means to be used in scoring small
holder’s farmer’s projects in Tanzania.
“We intend to develop Credit
Scoring System that will speed up the process of identifying viable
projects through scoring small holder’s farmer’s projects in Tanzania,”
he said.
According to Mr. Bouchama, since
its inception in 2004 the Credit Scoring System has assisted Morocco to
advance its agriculture and socio-economic development in rural areas by
identifying visible agricultural and rural development projects in
Morocco.
On her part, Chairperson of TADB’s
Board of Directors, Madame Rosebud Kurwijila said the Bank appreciates
GCAM visit in the country hoping once the System will be operationalized
will enhance TADB to achieve Government’s intentions in supporting
Tanzania’s agricultural development.
“We do appreciate your visit
hoping that we will work together to achieve Bank’s main objectives that
are bestowed by our Government in efforts to bring about economic
growth and poverty reduction in the country,” she said.
Tanzania Agricultural Development
Bank (TADB) and Group Credit Agricole of Morocco (GCAM) signed a
memorandum of Understanding (MoU) IN October 2016.
The MoU intends to promote
productive investments in the agriculture sector and development of
agro-industrial value chains in the respective countries.
According to the signed MoU, these
objectives will be achieved through promotion of financing and support
systems, especially for smallholder’s farmers.
The delegation from GCAM led by
Director of Engineering and Agro business, Mr. Jalal Bouchama, other
members include Chief of Agroindustry Department, Mrs. Sanae Benmali,
Director of Credit Information System, Mr. Abdessamad Danguir and Ms.
Sara Nachid, IT Developer.
