KRA deletes over 95,000 accounts not yet migrated to the iTax platform

Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) not yet migrated to the iTax platform.
The over 95,000 accounts deleted by Tuesday are of businesses and individuals that have VAT obligations, but have not yet migrated their accounts onto the online iTax platform. ALSO READ: Caster Semenya plays down gender testing 'nonsense' KRA gave upto the end of August as the deadline for individuals and businesses to feed their account details into the iTax platform, failing which their their Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) will be removed from the system.
KRA also said businesses that file nil or no returns would have their PINs rendered inactive - which could prove costly for the enterprises as it would mean they are not tax-compliant. Many would miss out on opportunities with the Government and big corporations that require a firm to be compliant before it can do business with it.
According to sources, KRA receives about 200,000 PIN request every month. The affected account holders will now be locked out from making critical transactions that require proof of active registration as a taxpayer.
